Ralph Waldo Emerson Self Reliance: Prompt #2

Everyday is today. Make yours unique

Your genuine action will explain itself, and will explain your other genuine actions. Your conformity explains nothing. The force of character is cumulative. – Ralph Waldo Emerson, Self-Reliance

If ‘the voyage of the best ship is a zigzag line of a hundred tacks,’ then it is more genuine to be present today than to recount yesterdays. How would you describe today using only one sentence? Tell today’s sentence to one other person. Repeat each day.

(Author: Liz Danzico)

Today I go forth with the intention to learn as much as I can, laugh with friends and to love those who are dear to me.      Miriam Gomberg

It is surprising how hard it is to sum up today in only one sentence. Originally I thought of creating a run-on sentence that would last an entire paragraph. There is so much preparation that goes into each day I forget to get rid of all of the things that are in my way and focus on what is really important.

What makes your day unique? Do you start with a cup of coffee or snuggle with your cat? Do you drag yourself to work, or is there a smile in your heart that you share with your co-workers. The zigzag of life changes directions with the wind. Find your inspiration and go forward.
